Maryland Renaissance Festival
The Maryland Renaissance Festival is back for its 50th season — and it is absolutely worth the trip.
Every fall, the 27-acre Village of Revel Grove in Crownsville comes to life with one of the most beloved family traditions in the area. The Maryland Renaissance Festival runs Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day Monday from August 29 through October 25, 2026, from 10am to 7pm — giving you nine full weekends to make it happen.
This year’s storyline follows King Henry VIII through 1540 and his 50th Harvest Festival, and the entertainment does not disappoint. Expect more than 200 professional performers across ten stages, armored jousting in a 3,000-seat arena, comedy sword fighting, magicians, jugglers, minstrels, and street characters roaming the village all day long. Over 140 artisans fill the shops with handmade jewelry, woodwork, leatherwork, stained glass, ceramics, and more — plus 42 food and beverage spots if you want to really commit to the experience.
Kids absolutely love it. Between the jousting, the costumes, the characters, and the general chaos of a full 16th-century English village, it tends to be one of those days that they talk about for weeks. Costumes are encouraged and guests are welcome to dress up — just keep it family-friendly.
