In Celebration of America’s 250th Birthday a Battle for Best Bubbly: American, British, or French? Whose Traditional Method Sparkling Wine Will Reign Supreme?
Description: Not since the Revolutionary War have Americans, Brits, and the French engaged in such a fierce battle for supremacy on American soil. As America and Annapolis celebrate our 250th Birthdays, let’s gather together to decide once and for all which nation crafts the best traditional method sparkling wine. We’ll taste 6 bottles of bubbly blind: 2 bottles of American sparkling wine, 2 bottles of British fizz, and 2 bottles of French Champagne while learning about the similarities and differences between these proud sparkling wine making traditions and nations. You’ll rank each wine to decide which Revolutionary War nation will reign supreme – before The Cultured Somm reveals the identity of each bottle of bubbly. American, British, and French cheeses and charcuterie will also be enjoyed – though no perfect pairings on this occasion, to avoid spoiling the blind taste test. Please join The Cultured Somm in raising a glass and a toast to Annapolis and America on their 250th Birthdays and may the best sparkling wine and nation win!
