La Esmeralda
Experience adventure, romance, and drama this April 24-25 at Maryland Hall!
Inspired by Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, this rarely performed ballet brings Esmeralda’s story to life through powerful music and expressive dance. Artistic Director Nicole Kelsch says, “We are excited to share a production that many audience members won’t have seen before, and we’re confident that they’ll fall in love with it the way we have.”
Set in medieval France, the story follows the kind-hearted Esmeralda as she faces the schemes of Claude Frollo, forms unexpected alliances, and captures the heart of Captain Phoebus. Featuring lively scenes like the Festival of Fools and the elegant Grand Pas de Fleurs, this family-friendly production blends excitement with heartfelt storytelling.
