Homestead Gardens Kids’ Club: From Seed to Sunflower

Young gardeners will dig into the amazing journey from seed to sunflower in this fun, hands-on Kids’ Club workshop. Through planting, creative decorating, and interactive learning, children will explore how plants grow and take home their own sunflower to nurture.

Cost: $10 per participant; must register online before the event
Get ready to grow something amazing in this engaging Kids’ Club experience designed for curious children ages 5–10. Kids will discover the magic hidden inside a tiny seed through fun demonstrations, hands-on learning, and a creative planting activity that brings the growing process to life.
Each child will decorate their own pot, plant a sunflower seed, and take home their creation to watch it grow. Along the way, participants will explore sprouting seeds, learn about plant parts, and gain a better understanding of what plants need to thrive. An adult helper must accompany each child during the event.
What You’ll Learn
- How seeds sprout and begin to grow
- What plants need, including sunlight, water, and care
- The basic parts of a plant and how they work together
- How to plant and care for a sunflower at home
Registration closes 15 minutes after the start of each session.
Children must be accompanied by an adult helper during this event.
