Event Series: Fish Hawk Friends Playgroup

Fish Hawk Friends Playgroup

Fish Hawk Friends is an open-ended outdoor playgroup for children aged 0–5. Reggio-inspired and guided by the changing seasons, we are educator-informed, child-focused, and process-driven.

It is run by two experienced educators and local Annapolis mums. Mandy Sheffer is a Reggio Emilia-inspired early childhood educator, art teacher, and preschool director. Mandy Vander Kolk is certified in K-12 special education and middle school science.

Fish Hawk Friends is set on a private 1-acre property in Annapolis, perched by the Chesapeake Bay near Sandy Point SP. We will meet on Monday mornings at 10:00am for 1.5 hours of outdoor play and teacher-facilitated activities. Our May sessions will include 5/4, 5/11, & 5/18.

We offer three different types of play sessions each month!
Open-play sessions, encourage children’s exploration and self-direction ($25 per session plus $15 for each additional sibling)
For our process-play sessions, we create sensory-focused provocations and activities for the children to explore and play with ($30 per session plus $15 for each additional sibling)
During our purpose-led play sessions, we will offer hands-on activities for parents and children, inspired by our love for the natural world and Reggio-inspired learning ($35 per session plus $15 for each additional sibling)
