DESCRIPTION:  \nCounty Executive Steuart Pittman invites you to join us at our 2026 River Days Festivals! \n\nRiver Days are festivals that provide free water access opportunities to county residents through fun recreational and educational activities on county rivers. \n  \n2026 Festivals\nThis summer\, the Anne Arundel County Executive’s Office will host four River Days festivals at different waterfront locations throughout the county. \n“The goal of these events is to provide public water access and inspire our residents to become stewards who will protect the health of our local waterways\,” said County Executive Pittman. “River Days provide families an opportunity to get out on the water and fall in love with the place that they live.” \nRiver Days Festivals are hosted by the County Executive’s Office. All events are free and open to the public. Each festival will feature fun activities for all ages\, including boat rides\, water activities\, environmental educators\, live music\, games\, crafts\, food trucks\, and more. Boat rides are free\, but capacity is limited and tickets will be available first come\, first served to festival attendees beginning one hour before each scheduled boat ride departure. DESCRIPTION:Chesapeake Life Center\, the organization behind wellness programs like Hope After Hours and All-Ages Grief Karaoke\, is introducing another creative approach to wellness and healing. “Paws\, Poses and Peace” combines the healing benefits of gentle yoga with the comforting presence of certified therapy dogs. \nTwo summer evening sessions will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on July 14 and Aug. 20 at the Center for Hope & Healing on Hospice of the Chesapeake’s John & Cathy Belcher Campus in Pasadena. \nWhether you’re navigating grief\, seeking stress relief\, looking for a nurturing space to recharge\, or simply love dogs and yoga\, this event is open to everyone in the community. No experience\, special ability or specific reason is required. \nParticipants will enjoy guided meditation\, calming breathing exercises\, gentle yoga and dedicated cuddle time with four certified therapy dogs: Aggie\, Gator\, Venture and Chance. Together\, these elements create a restorative experience that supports both physical well-being and emotional healing. \nThe sessions will be led by Naomi Hurley\, a certified yoga instructor since 2019\, with specialized training in trauma-informed yoga. Hurley has taught in schools\, community settings\, inpatient treatment centers and the Baltimore City Jail\, bringing a welcoming and inclusive approach to participants of all backgrounds and life experiences. \n“We believe wellness is for everyone\,” said Christa Martin\, a licensed master social worker and counselor at Chesapeake Life Center. “’Paws\, Poses and Peace’ is a judgment-free space where people can show up exactly as they are and experience connection\, comfort and calm.” \nParticipants should take their own yoga mats\, though a few will be available for those who may not have one. All ages and abilities are welcome. \nThis free event is open to the community. Some traditional camps will run kids all around the town and rivers too. In our Wood Art Workshop\, you’ll pour resin onto a pre-made wood board to create your own custom color and design and make a one-of-a-kind piece of art! Boards available in acacia\, bamboo\, mahogany and teak wood! You’ll leave your Wood Art for the resin to cure (harden)\, and we’ll sand resin drips off the back and oil your board\, ready for your use!
